But this Solstice, I've experienced what I can only conceive of as the direct personal intervention of the gods to provide for me in an impossible situation. I needed a large sum of money on short notice. I pursued every mundane method open to me, from loans from family, loans from banks, pilfering from my 401k, everything I could think of, and the money was not forthcoming.
In desperation, I took to my altar - yes I should have done so earlier, but I didn't. Only at the point of near ruin did I even ask.
And within two hours we had been offered an interest free loan for the entire amount. To be repaid "whenever you can." From an acquaintance we barely know, who remembered a kindness I'd done her years ago and was in a position to help. From a place I'd never have asked. And our need is being met on the Solstice, the very day.
I'd say my gratitude is deep, but that might be an understatement. I'm so grateful to both my goddess who unquestionably protected and provided for me, and to our human benefactor who deserves my thanks so richly.
This is an overwhelming, life changing gift at a time I truly needed it.
Blessed Solstice, Happy Yule, and Merry Christmas, and joy and deep deep gratitude to you all.
**if anyone reads these and enjoys my high day prayers, I will have an invocation of Sulis for Solstice and a prayer of thanks to Nemetona later this week.
